Handling of Information Related to Individuals

Privacy Policy

BBB Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "BBB"), in light of the importance of protecting personal information, will appropriately use, provide and manage all personal information (including usage history) when providing customers with various services in the planning, production, procurement and distribution of BBB's content, taking into consideration the content and scale of BBB's business. BBB will ensure that all of its officers and employees are fully aware of and comply with the personal information protection policy set forth below, and will review and improve BBB's personal information protection management system as appropriate in response to changes in social needs related to the protection of personal information.

Management, acquisition, use and provision of personal information

(4) Provision of personal information

BBB will not provide personal information to any third party other than those to which you have given your prior consent, except as permitted by law.
For details, please refer to the terms and conditions of each service or website that are clearly stated when personal information is collected.
The "cases permitted by law" include the following cases.

Handling of Anonymous Processed Information

BBB Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "BBB") complies with the "Act on the Protection of Personal Information" (including the Cabinet Order based on this Act and the Rules of the Personal Information Protection Commission, hereinafter referred to as the "Personal Information Protection Act"), the "Guidelines on the Act on the Protection of Personal Information" (including the "General Rules" and all others) and other laws and guidelines. In addition to complying with laws, regulations, and guidelines, we will continuously create anonymized processed information and provide such information to third parties, taking appropriate protective measures to ensure that specific individuals cannot be identified and that personal information used in the creation of such information cannot be recovered.

1. Items that are the source of anonymized processed information

(1) Personal attribute information of customers (name, telephone number, e-mail address, gender, date of birth, address, etc.)
(2) Your service usage history (information when you use services for members, survey responses, and information sent or provided in response to services for members)
(3) ID such as membership number.
Anonymous Processed Information will include only the minimum necessary items of the above for the purposes of use within BBB and by the recipient.

2.Method of Creating Anonymous Processed Information

BBB will create anonymized processed information from the items listed in 1 above by using the following processing methods and combinations of these methods, etc., in accordance with the processing standards set forth in the Personal Information Protection Law.

Main processing methods and processing examples

(1) Deletion of items that identify specific individuals (including items that can be used to identify individuals by combining descriptions, etc.; the same shall apply hereinafter)
e.g. Deletion of items that can identify a specific individual (name, phone number, etc.)

(2) Pseudonymization of items that identify a specific individual
e.g. Converting IDs such as membership numbers to random character strings, etc. that cannot be re-identified

(3) Generalization of items that may lead to the identification of specific individuals or the restoration of original personal information
e.g. Date of birth is converted to age group or birth date
e.g. Addresses are converted into prefectures and zip codes (upper three digits only).
e.g. Conversion of purchase history for a certain period of time into purchase trends
e.g. When the aggregate results of individual items are displayed as a single number, the aggregate results are processed to a state in which individuals cannot be identified.

3. method of providing anonymized processed information

When BBB provides anonymized processed information created by BBB to a third party, BBB will send the data, send it on recorded media, or provide it in documents after ensuring security by encrypting data files and protecting passwords.

4. security control measures for anonymized processed information

BBB shall establish internal rules and take appropriate security control measures. In addition, BBB will educate and supervise employees who handle anonymized processed information in accordance with the internal rules.

Security Policy

BBB Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "BBB"), in light of the importance of protecting personal information and other information assets, will strive to properly use and manage such information and maintain its accuracy and security.

1. Establishment of Security Management System

BBB will establish roles and systems to ensure the appropriate protection of information assets and the security of the business environment. In addition, a person responsible for security shall be appointed, and security measures and policies shall be implemented under the supervision of the person responsible. In the unlikely event of a security-related problem with information assets, BBB will promptly investigate the cause of the problem, minimize the impact of the problem, and strive to prevent its recurrence.

2.Compliance with Laws and Regulations

In addition to complying with applicable laws and regulations, BBB will make every effort to ensure compliance with the rules and regulations established by BBB.

3. Maintenance of internal rules for security

BBB will establish internal rules and regulations based on this policy and the Personal Information Protection Policy, and will ensure that all employees are familiar with clear policies and rules for the appropriate management of information assets.

4. Implementation of Security Training

BBB is committed to maintaining and improving the security awareness of its employees and staff, and to providing them with the necessary training on an ongoing basis to ensure that information assets are handled appropriately and that they can perform their duties safely.

5.Formulation and Implementation of Security Measures

BBB formulates and implements security measures in terms of people, organization, systems, technology, and facilities to protect information assets from natural disasters, unauthorized access, falsification, destruction, information leaks, loss, theft, and various other events, and to ensure the safety of the business environment.

6. Improvement of Security Activities

BBB will improve its security activities based on problems identified through security assessments, as well as internal and external factors such as changes in the internal and external environment and security trends.

7. Management of Contractors

When outsourcing, BBB will select a contractor that is capable of meeting BBB's security requirements. During outsourcing, BBB will periodically evaluate whether appropriate security measures have been implemented in accordance with BBB's rules, and will review outsourcing measures as necessary.

8. Understanding the External Environment

When storing personal data overseas, BBB implements security control measures based on its knowledge of the systems in place for the protection of personal information in the country or region where the data is stored.
